Bequests
You can make a gift that costs you nothing during your lifetime by making POARC a beneficiary of your will or revocable trust. A bequest is easy to arrange, does not affect your assets or cash flow during your lifetime, and is revocable.
A bequest can deliver a specific dollar amount, or a percentage of the balance remaining in your estate after taxes and specific bequests have been paid.
Your bequest to POARC can fund advocacy activities. This support is particularly valuable for advancing the principles or free enterprise, limited government, and individual freedom when we work with government officials on public policies that affect landowners. However, since advocacy is not a charitable activity, bequests to POARC are not tax-deductible for estate tax purposes.
While bequests are not deductible, with proper estate planning it may be possible to make a significant bequest to support our advocacy efforts and avoid estate taxation. Please consult your tax advisor for assistance. Bequests may be made to POARC under the federal estate tax exemption without adverse tax consequences.
We are deeply grateful to those friends who, through their will or living trust, make a gift to support the work of POARC for future generations.
